Merry Christmas 2012 from the Keathley family! Never mind that Melina's pose would be a more appropriate celebration of our beloved Wildcats winning the NCAA Basketball Championship, a favorite highlight of the year. It's the best Christmas picture taken of the five of us. No joke. As proof, here are the rejects sans commentary in no particular order.
At some point, we took a break and switched it up to see if that would help.
It didn't.
My kids are well able to take a decent picture. The main problem is that they respond to Mommy and Daddy leaping around like the proverbial twelve lords behind the camera. When the tables are turned and we hold our squirming children for the camera, results often disappoint.
Take this one for example, taken Christmas Sunday right after church. The bright Florida sun made them all want to look down.
We have five or six like this, all with the adults perfectly posed and the kids staring intently at the ground like there's something really interesting going on down there.
Indoors on Christmas Eve gave us much more luck, except for the shoe issue. Somehow Devon was shoeless before we even started taking pictures. Carrie must have noticed. She went for them first.
Then Melina.
Devon found this amusing.
Watching events unravel is really funny on our computer album, where we can put the series on a quick slideshow and watch them like jerky animation.
Seeing them squirm on the screen is a lot like real life.
At the end of the photoshoot we got our second good picture of the night with Craig setting the time delay and rushing into the shot. Meeners is a little stressed by this point but otherwise it's pretty good. I'm not going to crop it. The shoe in the background says it all.
