Grammy and Grandpa: June 10, 2013

What is this? All three sitting still looking at books?  Something must be different.....

Aha!  That explains it!  Grammy and Grandpa spent a whirlwind three weeks here in late May/early June.  Visits are blogging black holes for me, because we're so busy doing things that there isn't time to document.  Here I am almost a month later, finally sitting down to organize my photos and put together some highlights.

I turned 34 with a beach trip and a truly obscene amount of fatty desserts.  Frostings cupcakes to top off our beach trip...

... and this was after I picked a four-berry pie at Sam's Club and insisted it was what I wanted for my birthday.

Not to be outdone, Craig brought home roses and ANOTHER cake.

Nobody complained.

Mommy and Daddy even got away for a trip to the Kennedy Space Center.  We thought about our kids every moment, but really enjoyed some "adult time".

Grammy and Grandpa enjoyed their "kid time".

Devon already gets read to several hours a week by Grammy, but he enjoyed sitting on her lap instead of cozying up to the laptop and Grammy on Skype.

Grammy enjoyed dressing the girls in all the cute outfits she brought.  All three of us, really.  She knows that Mommy doesn't really shop for clothes.

The girls' Great Grandma Weimer made a crochet dress for Mommy over thirty years ago.  I'm sure she'd be fascinated to know that she could've used two of them.  Either way, the girls enjoyed dressing up in the vintage dress.  Each one threw a fit when it came time to take it off.

Everyone enjoyed breakfast at the Vero Beach Disney Resort.  The girls liked the food more than the characters, but eventually warmed up to them.

We tried for a picture, which is always hard with three kids and full sun.

Since Grammy and Grandpa will miss the girls' second birthday, we celebrated early.

The girls were very excited about their sunglasses.  Now if I could get them to wear them instead of play with them...

Carrie went right for Devon's new shoes.

We had so much fun!

And just like that, three weeks were up and it was time for Grammy and Grandpa to go home. Their visit couldn't have been more perfectly timed, as it coincided with Devon's health problems and gave us peace knowing the girls were cared for as we traveled with him. It was also a great rest for us. Most of all, it was so much fun to laugh together and enjoy each other.
